Trump Nominates Keith Sonderling as Labor Secretary

On June 29, 2026, President Trump announced he is nominating acting Labor Secretary Keith Sonderling to become the agency’s official leader following Lori Chavez-DeRemer’s resignation in April. Sonderling previously served as deputy administrator of the U.S. Department of Labor's (DOL) Wage and Hour Division and was a member of the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. Read more here.
