Bipartisan Senators Reintroduce Cannabis Banking Reform

On June 25, 2026, Sens. Jeff Merkley (D-OR), Steve Daines (R-MT), Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) and Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) reintroduced the bipartisan SAFE Banking Act of 2026, which would allow financial institutions to provide banking services to state-legal cannabis businesses without fear of federal penalties.
