71 Lawmakers Sign Letter to Treasury, USTR

Rep. Mike Carey (R-OH), joined by 71 of his House colleagues, recently sent a letter to Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and U.S. Trade Representative (USTR) Ambassador Jamieson Greer, urging them to require the Chinese government to curb the flow of illegal e-cigarettes in any new trade agreement with the U.S.

Citing a threat to national security, the letter calls for the U.S. federal government to "aggressively counter the source of these products" and requests a commitment requiring the Chinese government stop all e-cigarette exports in the ongoing trade negotiations.
