House Judiciary Committee Passes Cannabis Legislation

Last week, the House Judiciary Committee passed the Marijuana Opportunity, Reinvestment and Expungement (MORE) Act (H.R. 3617), a bill that would reverse federal policies criminalizing marijuana. The MORE Act would make three important changes to federal law: remove cannabis from the list of federally controlled substances; authorize resources, funded by a federal tax on marijuana sales, to address impacted communities; and provide for the expungement of Federal marijuana convictions and arrests.
