Congress Recessing for 4th of July Holiday

Congress is taking a two-week break and will return to a full legislative calendar for the remainder of the month. Appropriations and other must-pass legislation will be on the agenda, and the Senate and House will have to make some tough decisions about what they can agree on for the next round of coronavirus legislation. Issues like state and local funding, liability protection and refundable tax credits for PPE and cleaning of offices, factories and other workplaces are all being discussed. The House passed the broad base HEROES Act in May, but the Senate has yet to determine how they will move forward.
