FTA Publishes New Cigarette Brand Code Table
The Federation of Tax Administrators (FTA) Uniformity Committee is pleased to report that the cigarette Brand Code Table has been posted and is available for download on the FTA website.
The FTA believes this document will benefit both States and Industry. One advantage is that States that do not collect cigarette detail information using the same methods will be able to share import and export data effectively. For Industry members, a single brand code table incorporated across many states will allow the business to program the brand code values a single time, and thereby, report receipts and disbursements with improved accuracy. We encourage Industry members to reach out to States to discuss the benefits of using this table.
