Dorval Trading’s Cappel Passes

Jack Cappel, founder of Dorval Trading Co., Ltd. passed away Monday at the age of 100. Cappel, a native of Montreal, emigrated to New York in the late 1940s working with several confection companies before founding Dorval Trading in 1966. Cappel was inducted into the Candy Hall of Fame in 2002, and was active in CDA’s predecessor organization, the National Candy Wholesalers Association (NCWA), for many years. Funeral services were held on July 17 in Paramus, NJ. Mr. Cappel’s obituary may be found here.
