Driver Shortage Continues to Be a Challenge
A recent Washington Post article raises new concerns about the ongoing driver shortage and the impact it could have on an otherwise strong U.S. economy. CDA is part of a group of associations looking for ways to get more drivers into these good-paying jobs, whether through passage of legislation to allow younger drivers working with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) and the Department of Labor (DOL) in initiatives to encourage people to go into this line of work, and working with allied industries and organizations. This issue is top of mind for CDA and we will continue to work to find a sustainable solution.
