Take Action on OK and CT Tobacco Legislation

Oklahoma and Connecticut are considering the tobacco legislation below. CDA encourages its members in these states to distribute the attached informational flyers (OK and CT), and go to tobaccoissues.com, click on their state and send an email to their Representative in opposition of the tax.

Oklahoma will be going into a special session on Sept. 25 in which, more than likely, there will be a vote on a $1.50/pack cigarette excise tax.

Connecticut is still in session, and Gov. Malloy outlined his agenda last Friday, which included the following:

  • Increase cigarette excise tax from $3.95 to $4.35/pack
  • Increase the MST tax from $1.00 to $3.00/ounce
  • Begin a 75% ad valorem take on e-vapor products
