FDA Listening Session on Food Traceability Regulation

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), in cooperation with the Partnership for Food Traceability (PFT), has scheduled a “listening session” on March 6, 2026, regarding the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) Section 204(d).

During the listening session, trade associations representing each supply chain sector will share their challenges for implementing lot-level traceability, flexibilities that would help overcome these challenges, and specific solutions for implementing the flexibilities. The sectors that will give presentations to the FDA include: (1) producer/grower/harvester, (2) manufacturer/processor, (3) distributor, (4) retail/grocer, and (5) restaurants.

CDA, along with the Global Cold Chain Alliance and the Minnesota Wholesale Marketers Association, will give a presentation from the distribution segment’s perspective during the FDA listening session.
