States Sue HHS Over Restructuring

On May 5, 2025, nineteen Democratic-led states plus the District of Columbia announced they are suing the Trump administration and Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., claiming a mass reorganization of the agency — eliminating offices, cutting 10,000 jobs, and cutting public health programs — violates federal law and the Constitution.
