FDA Names Jim Traficant as Chief of Staff
On March 10, 2025, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA)
named
Jim Traficant, a former executive with experience working with the federal government, as its chief of staff. Traficant comes to the FDA role after reportedly serving in the health care systems and data space as president of Accenture Federal Service subsidiary ASM Research and Harris Healthcare. Prior to joining the FDA, Traficant was partner at consulting group Pinkston. Previously, Elizabeth Jungman served as the FDA’s chief of staff. Prior to that, she had worked in other agency roles and served as director of public health programs at the Pew Charitable Trusts. Traficant’s role as FDA chief of staff includes serving as liaison to other agencies on public health efforts and legislative engagement. Traficant is also tasked with advising leadership to implement agency policies.
