Jean W. Lange, Father of CDA's Gene Lange, Passes

CDA sends our thoughts and prayers out to Gene Lange, CDA’s general counsel, and his family on the passing of his father, Jean W. Lange. Mr. Lange passed away peacefully in his sleep in Sac City, IA on Aug. 3, 2020, at 100 years old. Jean was a decorated athlete in his college years at Iowa State College and was a WWII army veteran, serving as part of the Occupation Forces in Japan. Along with his father and brother, he operated the Sac City Creamery Co., known as Lange's Dairy until 1972, and then went into banking, operating both Union State Bank and Citizens Bank in Winterset and Sac City respectively. Jean is survived by his three sons, Gene of Alexandria, VA; Tom of Sac City, IA; and John of Linn Creek, MO. He leaves eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by both parents, his two sisters, LaVera and Marion, and his brother Elmer.
