With laws and policies constantly changing, we are delighted to share an updated guide, "Guide to Federal and State Laws and Policies Governing Hemp-Derived CBD Products.” First released in December 2019, we hope this updated resource continues to serve as a valuable guide to CBD and current regulations for CDA members.
This memorandum, prepared by Lange Thomas & Associates LLP, addresses hemp-derived CBD products only. CBD may also be derived from marijuana. While several states may have legalized marijuana, it is important to note that marijuana remains illegal as a matter of federal law, and that possession, distribution or sale of marijuana constitutes a federal crime.
