In what the company says is the largest acquisition in its history, 7-Eleven, Inc. announced earlier this week it is purchasing convenience store chain Speedway for $21 billion in cash, which includes 3,900 stores across 35 states. 7-Eleven currently has more than 9,800 stores in North America, and post-acquisition will have more than 14,000 locations in 47 of the 50 most populated metro areas in the U.S. The transaction is scheduled to be complete in the first quarter of 2021.
