Performance Food Group to Purchase Eby-Brown
Performance Food Group Co. (PFG) announced this week that it will acquire CDA member Eby-Brown Co. LLC. PFG’s acquisition, expected to close in the second quarter of 2019, will allow its Vistar segment to expand in the convenience channel where there is considerable overlap with suppliers and product categories, the company stated in their announcement.
Eby-Brown is one of the nation’s largest convenience products distributors, operating eight U.S. distribution centers, with annual sales in excess of $5 billion. According to the company, the combined reach of Vistar and Eby-Brown will service more than 75,000 locations in the U.S., making it number one and two in locations served and non-tobacco convenience volume respectively.
