U.S. Imposing $200 Billion More in Tariffs on Chinese Goods

On Tuesday, President Trump announced that the United States would impose tariffs on $200 billion worth of Chinese goods, and that the government was prepared to tax all imports. This comes on top of $50 billion worth of tariffs announced earlier this year, meaning that nearly half of all Chinese imports will be affected. The next wave of tariffs are scheduled to go into effect on September 24, and will start at 10% before climbing to 25% on January 1, 2019. China has indicated they will respond in kind, imposing additional tariffs on goods imported from the US, such as agricultural products.
