CDA Submits Comments to FDA on ANPRM on Nicotine

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) recently issued an Advance Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (ANPRM) on three topics: setting a maximum level of nicotine in cigarettes and possibly other tobacco products, the role of flavors in tobacco products and the premium cigar category.

The agency issued these ANPRMs, which is a request by the FDA for information, data, and studies on an issue, as a preliminary step in determining whether a new regulation should be proposed in the future. June 14, 2018 is the deadline for submitting comments to the FDA on the ANPRM issued by the agency on setting a maximum level of nicotine in cigarettes and possibly other tobacco products. CDA has submitted comments on the ANPRM on nicotine levels, and encourages our members to do the same. For instructions on how to submit your own comments, please visit CDA's website.
